SEO Services in Edmonton
GRWTH Media does SEO in Edmonton for home service businesses: HVAC, plumbing, electrical, roofing, renovation, flooring, duct cleaning and the other trades listed on our industries page. We do not focus on restaurants, law firms or online stores. Working in one kind of business means the pages, the Google profile and the reporting are already shaped like your trade before we start.
Most of our SEO work comes down to four things: a page for each service and each town you serve, a Google Business Profile that matches them, reviews that keep coming in, and a monthly report that counts booked jobs rather than traffic.
What SEO means for a trade business
For a contractor, search has two halves. When someone in Sherwood Park searches "roof repair near me", Google shows a map with three businesses on it and, below that, ordinary website results. The map comes from your Google Business Profile. The website results come from your site.
Google says it ranks local results on relevance, distance and prominence. Relevance is whether your profile and pages match the search. Distance is how close you are. Prominence is how well known you are, which includes your reviews and the sites that link to or mention you. You cannot move your shop closer to every customer, so the work is relevance and prominence. Google explains this here.
We cover the map side in detail in How Google Maps ranking works, and the wider picture in SEO for local businesses.
What our Edmonton SEO work includes
A look at where you stand first
Before anything is sold, we check what you rank for today, town by town and service by service, where your leads come from now and what you are spending. You get that baseline in writing. If we cannot help, we say so on that call.
Service pages and town pages
One page for each main service, written with you about the work you actually do. Then a page for each town you really serve, such as St. Albert, Spruce Grove or Leduc, with something on it that is true of that town. We do not publish copies of one page with the town name swapped; Google treats those as doorway pages. More on how we build them in Service area pages that rank.
Your Google Business Profile
The right primary category, your real business name, the service areas you drive to, every service listed, hours that match when someone answers, and real photos of your crews and your work. How to set up Google Business Profile for Edmonton trades walks through it.
Reviews
A review request goes out by text when the job is marked complete, to every customer. If you use the GRWTH CRM, we also write replies to your reviews, drafted with AI inside the CRM. We cannot do that for businesses that are not on it. Why this matters for ranking is in How Google reviews affect local SEO.
The technical side
You do not have to move your website to work with us. We do recommend moving it onto the GRWTH website platform, because it is faster and it gets better results: the platform handles speed, mobile layout, the sitemap and page structure for every page, so our time goes into the content and the profile instead of plugin updates.
Listings and local links
Your business name, phone number and address should read the same everywhere it appears: your site, your Google profile, and the directories and trade associations you are listed with. We also look for the links a local trade business can honestly earn, such as suppliers, associations and community sponsorships.
A monthly report on booked jobs
Each month we sit down with what came in, where it came from, what it cost and what closed. Leads from your website forms land in GRWTH with their source attached, so the report counts jobs, not visits. If you use the GRWTH CRM, the report shows cost per booked job, because the CRM is what tracks it. If you use another CRM, we need access to that data to do the same calculation. If a month is down, we bring the reason before you ask.
How long SEO takes
SEO is slower than ads. Changes to a Google profile can show on the map sooner than new pages show in search. New service and town pages take longer to rank, and how long depends on how competitive your trade and your towns are. We will tell you what we expect for your situation after we have looked, rather than quote a timeline here.
For seasonal trades, that means starting before the busy season. An HVAC company that wants winter furnace calls should not be starting in January. We wrote more about that in SEO for HVAC companies in Edmonton.
SEO, ads, or both
Ads put you at the top today and stop the day you stop paying. SEO takes months and keeps working. Most of the trades we work with use both: ads to fill the calendar now, SEO to bring the cost of each job down over time. Because we run both, and the same report shows both, you can see which one is paying for itself. See all our services.
Questions we get asked
Do you only work in Edmonton?
No. We are based in Edmonton and work with trade businesses across Canada. This page is about the Edmonton market because it is our home market.
How much does SEO cost?
It depends on how many services and towns you cover and how competitive they are. We give you a price after we have looked at where you stand.
Do I need a new website?
No. We can work on the site you have. We recommend moving it onto the GRWTH website platform, because it is faster and gets better results, but it is your choice.
Can you guarantee first place on Google?
No. Nobody can, and Google says so itself. What we can tell you is what we would change, what it should affect, and then show you each month whether it did.
What do I need to bring to the first call?
Last month's spend and lead count, if you have them. Book a demo and we will go through it with you.
